final year collection based on the theme of inside/outside, which explores the seperation barriers of being outside of society

BA (Hons) Cordwainers Accessories: Product Design & Development

I like to play with boundaries of construction, creating new forms which can appear somewhat unusual yet functional. The aim in design is to come up with an idea that is unique, in my opinion. Material and surface decoration also play an important part. Accessories and handbags is where one can show their true style, altering what can be a plain outfit by adding to it with accessories.

My final collection explores attitudes towards weddings, and self expression; and features bridal gowns and corsets which fuse together Miss Havisham-esque twisted despair and Victoriana elements, with dark inky hand drawn digital prints; bringing to life the perfect anti-wedding dress.

Title: "Out of Discord: Their Sorrow" Poor victims that had endured the pain and the lost of their beloved ones who died innocently during the outbreak of the war. Many places were swept clean by the nuclear and the bombs, the pile of rubble, pool of bloods and distorted figures of dead people. It was extremely overwhelming and hard to swallow that it was intensely imprinted in my mind. This collection expresses the feeling of somberness and melancholy. email: mikkie.t@hotmail.co.uk Photographer: Jacqueline Chang Model: Chelsey Leigh Flood Deborah Tung

Water and Illusion Photography

BA (Hons) Costume for Performance

I am motivated and dedicated, looking to explore sensory design and the relationship between technology and live performance. I have worked in film and television as an assistant designer and buyer. Over the last year I have worked closely with the designer Moritz Junge, assisting him on projects with Wayne McGregor's Random Dance, The Royal Opera House and The National Theatre. I am currently assisting Moritz as he designs for the Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony. In July 2011 I designed costumes for ATMA Dance Company’s performance of Sivaloka performed at the British Museum. This year I have focused my design on creating an immersive contemporary dance piece. “Amorphous” is an immersive contemporary dance piece which seeks to engage its audience through a heightened sensory environment. It touches on the concept of synesthesia. The piece is loosely based on Katie Mitchell’s play “Waves” which seeks to deconstruct Virginia Woolf’s novels “Moments of Being” and “The Waves”. “Amorphous”focuses on the movement of a small phylum of bioluminescent echinoderms: forms of sea life such as sea cucumbers, and sea urchins which may use their own light to attract or deter prey. Settled at first, they have to respond to a change in their environment which disorientates and disturbs them. The physical experience of the piece is enhanced by the vibrations from the music’s bass line which forms the reference points for the dancers: the remainder of the score may be heard through headphones, intensifying the auditory experience. Electro luminescent wire built into the costumes responds directly to this bass line, whilst a computer application created specifically for Amorphous by Hellicar and Lewis controls the speed of the projected film through response to the score. This intensifies the visual experience and enhances the link between the auditory and the visual. PETROL PATENT JACKET WITH BEADED WAISTBAND

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear

Loko Yu BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear http://showtime.arts.ac.uk/lokoyu http://my.lcffirstmove.co.uk/graduates/6831 Influenced by non-fashion bodies presented in the form of NANA sculptures by Niki de Saint Phalle, anti-mainstream style movements and individualist body art, I explored a multiple shade scheme of black that is defined through 3D surface embellishment, giving the illusion of body art growing from the wearer, through the garment, gaining its own life. I've researched sub-cultures and used elements of them in very fine detailing of my pieces, such as functioning piercing into a seam to create a piece. As a designer, I am constantly inspired by people who break free of society’s expectations to fit into a certain mould, body and appearance. I always seek to explore and develop a concept fully without restrictions like trends or pre-set ideas of what the final garments should be or shouldn’t be. This way, the full potential of an idea can be realized; sometimes mistakes made during the development of a garment can lead to unintentional great outcomes.
