âEternity Waitâ explores the phenomenon which people spend
the time waiting for something and their perception of time, where
the aim is the action of waiting, not the object people are waiting
for. The starting point of my final major project is the famous
absurd play created by Samuel Beckett -- Waiting for Godot. The
main concept of the project is about â Waiting â, which I first got
inspired from my personal experience and affections in a certain
of waiting activities during my holiday. In this design report I will
elaborate the interpretation of Waiting for Godot and how I linked
the idea of time perception to the action of waiting. Furthermore,
the approaches and methods of transferring the idea of waiting into
my final project and textile designs.

This project seeks to design a collection that pays homage to diamond miners. It takes inspiration from both historical and contemporary examples of dress worn by this worker.
This work refers to the worker and is analyzed in three ways, which relate to the terms âDifficultyâ, âDirtâ and âDangerâ.
It is all about strong woman, grunge style and street looks, as models appeared in slouchy, denim fabric garments, including deconstructive jackets, functional jumpsuits and shift dress. These works pursue comfortable, protective, and functional elements.

BA (Hons) Costume for Performance
I believe my passion for original and innovative costumes has pushed me to challenge the boundaries of what is traditionally perceived as costume through my interaction with objects and landscape. My excitement for character and concept has led me to produce a range of works which draw influences from existing narratives and philosophical concepts. I remain enthusiastic about all areas of costume whether contemporary or historic and have a high appreciation for tailoring which I picked up from my time spent interning on Savile Row.
My final major project drew its inspirations from the works of John Cage and Marcel Duchamp and was directed by a series of chance determined operations. It also considers the theory of the observer completing the work through its use of reflective surfaces. I worked with themes that were loosely selected from Samuel Beckets Waiting for Godot, most notably those of isolation, repetition, unknown and on-going. With this work I sought to explore the limitations of costume and its potential to additionally exist as props and set. The costumes ability to merge into its landscape pushed me to consider the scale of the work and its potential to keep growing and expanding.

This project is inspired by Burma/ Myanmar and buddhism in the country. The use of gold is prominent throughout the culture and also is in this collection. Silhouettes are inspired by traditional womenswear in Burma and traditional clothing worn by women in many different tribes from different states of Burma. Detailed research was also carried out into the current political issues of the country and has been carried through into some of the textiles ideas, other textiles are inspired by jewellery which is worn to represent wealth within tribes. This has also been used to create new, contemporary embellishments in this collection.
