Fashion Designer and Print Specialist with commercial experience in pattern cutting, hand and machine sewing and confident using Photoshop, Illustrator and basic Indesign. Comfortable on knitting machines, with hand and machine embroidery. I am an enthusiastic individual inspired by bright colours and patterns, thriving as a team player, excelling in project management and communication. Very open minded, happy to take on new challenges and a very quick learner. As an ambitious Surface Textiles Designer and Fashion Designer who loves the fast pace nature of fashion design, I am looking for an opportunity to gain experience as a Studio Assistant, whether that be in Pattern Cutting, Print Designing or working on Photoshop and Illustrator. I have previous experience from freelance work and past placements. I am passionate about ethical and sustainable fashion within all sectors including Marketing. This project is inspired by Burma/ Myanmar and buddhism in the country. The use of gold is prominent throughout the culture and also is in this collection. Silhouettes are inspired by traditional womenswear in Burma and traditional clothing worn by women in many different tribes from different states of Burma. Detailed research was also carried out into the current political issues of the country and has been carried through into some of the textiles ideas, other textiles are inspired by jewellery which is worn to represent wealth within tribes. This has also been used to create new, contemporary embellishments in this collection.
