The concept of the Inuit collection is based on Scandinavian Design and the mystery of the Arctic. Scandinavian style is associated with elegance, understatement and functionality and is often described as minimalist consisting of simple lines and shapes. The aesthetic of this collection has been inspired by contemporary product design and furniture. The use of natural materials, in particular moulded wood has had a substantial impact on this collection and is reflected in many of the details. The concept of the Inuit collection was to establish new forms and functions for fashion accessories. BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles

I graduated London College of Fashion with a First Class Honours Degree in FDT: Surface Textiles specialising in knitwear . I am interested in combining unusual materials and pushing techniques to their extremes to create innovative experimental textiles. I like exploring new ways of constructing garments to create new ways they can be worn. I often take inspiration from the traditional garments of different cultures, especially that of eastern Asian. The aesthetic of my work takes a lot of influence from Japanese fashion as well as sportswear and street fashion. My work takes a lot of inspiration from the process and the techniques used to create the textiles. Exploring textile techniques is an important part of the research in my work and I enjoy working in 3D. I use this approach when designing garments and stand work is integral to the development of silhouettes in my work. I always aim to let the textiles inform the silhouette as I like the unpredictable nature of working this way can create great results..

Currently studying Womenswear'WELCOME TO THE CHAVISTOCRACY - The Hottest Thing Left Of The British Empire.' This collection explores the ideas behind antisocial behaviour, focusing on what we know as ‘Chav’ culture and football hooliganism in the 80’s and 90’s. My garments blend together loose sportswear silhouettes with luxury finishes. Details like the ‘DAPPA’ logo and coat of arms visually incorporate my tongue in cheek approach to the concept. Looking at the manipulation and fusing of sports fabrics; through this collection I want to adapt people’s opinions of the casual stereotype in which these textiles poses. All of the themes used have been inspired from my interest in the demonization of the working class.
