NZCA Lines / New Atmosphere

BA (Hons) Costume for Performance

website - cargocollective.com/ils My FMP was a collaboration with the band NZCA Lines on a video for their upcoming single - New Atmosphere. A scientist grieves at the loss of his love during the birth of a new protective atmosphere. Of which they sought together, in our future desolate Earth. Cairo Athens glows in nostalgia and unrestrained abandon, on the other side of the physical and moral world. In Cairo Athens we see a controller. She wears a design based on a collapsable structural origami. Constructed from laser cut plastic and aluminium. In hope of a new world, two scientists roam the desolate earth, in atmospheric suits and breathing apparatus, in hope of creating a new atmosphere. I currently work as a freelance costume assistant within TV, film and music. I am interested in art direction and set design as well as costume and was also responsible for all the locations you can see in New Atmosphere.

FdA Fashion Design Technology (Designer Pattern Cutter)

there is always a gap in the market so when i am designing garments, when i am designing I keep in mind that the garments would need to be attractive to every woman but then it would need to be a multi purpose garments so I tend to make garments that are sleeveless but I would make jersey/lycra tops with sleeves so there would be an option to over up completely or wear top sleeveless or fully sleeves.

BA (Hons) Fashion Jewellery

Jewellery designer Qian Yang graduated from London College of Fashion (2014) with degree in BA (Hons) in Fashion Jewellery. I am obsessed with vintage fashion and antique objects, expecting to give traditional item or technique a brand new life. The concept of my Final collection was about 'Repair'. And I used second hand porcelains either already broken or I cut the figures, then repair them back into jewellery. This idea mainly inspirited from Japanese gold repair 'Kintsugi', for repair broken ceramics. For this jewellery collection, each chosen porcelain repaired with 24ct gold plated metal. It's a collection full of fun and I added a new meaning and extra preciousness to my each ceramics pieces. BA (Hons) Technical Effects for Performance

I joined LCF in 2009 completing a diploma in Image Styling for Performance, which paved the way for me to be accepted on the FDA Specialist Make-up & Hair for Film & TV 2010. In the 1st term of the 2nd yr of the FDA my creative needs had evolved as I was strongly drawn to the work I saw being produced in the Technical Effects studios, so I applied for a transfer to the BA (Hons) Technical Effects for Performance. I went through the interview process and I was accepted. Over the past five years of hard work and dedication I have developed an arsenal of technical skills such as silicon & fibre glass mould making , sculpting, life casting and puppetry, period hair & make-up and trauma make-up. Along with the technical skills I have learned about Character Construction through my engagement with the Cultural and Historical Studies aspect of the degree. This has not only given me the tools to create believable characters with depth and context, it has given me a better understanding of the world around me. As part of the degree we were required to spend six weeks working in industry. As I wish to work in live performance I arranged a placement with The English National Opera (ENO). I spent most of the time in the ENO workshop where I expanded as well as honed my skills. During the six weeks I also experienced installing a performance at the Coliseum where I worked with Prop Management. My time with the ENO has given me holistic hands-on experience that will be valuable to my future career.

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles

Copyright © 2014 Devika Rattu ______________________________FLORAL DECAY Devika Rattu is a Surface Textiles Designer specialising in Print through traditional screen-printing and digital printed textiles. Her work explores printing and dyeing techniques with a modern twist by distorting and warping her artwork to create something distinctly unique. Her Spring/Summer 2014 collection Floral Decay is a high-end womenswear collection, which stemmed from the idea that man-made cites are created by destroying natural landscapes. Then when man no longer has use for the structures, the invasion of nature and the decaying process takes over and creates something delicately beautiful, fragile and unique. Looking at the visual record of physical decay shown in the work of Marchand and Meffre’s ‘Ruins of Detroit’ the photography explores abandonment by people, society and the presence of past lives within the derelict buildings. The collection draws on traditional print processes of Devore and dyeing used in a contemporary way with unconventional fabrics. The techniques have been extensively refined to showcase a highly creative development of textiles. Both techniques required long periods of time to explore, test and perfect, creating a distinctive collection. The dyeing and printing process has been a fundamental aspect to the collection. The importance of colour is paramount to Devika’s vision through her collection, especially the transformation of her artwork into printed textiles. An integral part to the development of Devika’s work is her floral illustrations. Specialising in organic watercolour paintings rich in colour, distorted and warped to form graphic structural shapes, which won her a prize for Chelsea Flower Show competition and an annual membership to the Royal Horticultural Society. Then developed for the illustration competition Nina De Yorke and used to create an instillation for the 2013 LCF Press Exhibition. ______________________________EDUCATION London College of Fashion Ba (Hons) Fashion Design Technology_Surface Textiles 2010-2013 London College of Fashion Foundation Diploma in Art and Design 2009-2010 ______________________________WORK EXPERIENCE Anna Sui -New York- Pattern Making Intern July-September 2012 Giles -London- Sample Room Intern January-May 2012 Freelance Print Designer_ Mirjam Roudén -London- Design Intern April-May 2011 ______________________________ ACHIEVEMENTS Runner up_Chelsea Flower show t-shirt competition Annual membership for The Royal Horticultural Society Collaborative photo shoot, producing 2 dresses and a headpiece for Fauna & Flora

copyright © 2013 Huma Hayirli "Drag Me Out"--------------------- I am a surface textile for fashion designer specialising in print with an interest in digital print. I have a passion for colour and I am extremely fascinated in creating textiles through combining print techniques with digital prints. ‘Drag me out’ is a luxury ready to wear spring/summer 2014 womenswear collection. The collection explores the story behind Drag queens and looks in-depth at the transformation from male to female. Trying to reflect this idea through contradictory fabrics, texture, colours and through the use of print. The inspiration originates from researching into the props that drag queens use and it is the wigs, eyelashes, make up and clothing that make them look totally different from their original selves. The use of colour was a major way of expressing my research and reflecting the quirkiness, colourful, exciting and bold personality of drag queens within this collection.
