SS14 'Blue Epoch' - YVES

BA (Hons) Cordwainers Fashion Bags and Accessories: Product Design and Innovation

New SS14 Collection - 'Blue Epoch' http://www.lauraapsitlivens.co.uk/ss14-blue-epoch/ As a hat designer I think is of the upmost importance that we do not see Couture Millinery disappear. It is important to me to use modern designs with old couture techniques, each piece being hand blocked and individually hand stitched and without the use of any machinery. Influenced by unusual uses of material and working through the concept of 'Skin' for my final collection produced for my degee, I wanted to combine everything I have learnt about leather with my millinery skills. I used raw inspiration from the human body and, using unconventional materials, I have created unusual and unique pieces. My objective was to design pieces which would also be seen as pieces of art. My pieces are always hand stiched, bespoke and of the highest quality; perfection is the only option. Materials used are unusual but aesthetically pleasing, making the mind question what it is looking at. I am currently working for my own company Laura Apsit Livens Limited, I have now produced 4 collections including AW13 'Are you fur Real? I have been collaborating with other designers most recently being with Louis Vuitton, and other companies such as Boodles Jewellers www.lauraapsitlivens.co.uk Contact: laura@lauraapsitlivens.co.uk

B R A N D C O N C E P T Mobility, Style & Comfort is the heart of Holiday footwear. The brand's ultimate goal is to establish a reputation for the perfect city holiday shoes - hence the name Holiday - for the women who are creative, independent and well travelled. P R E S S "When I saw Hiroe Haruki wearing her own shoes at the exhibition, I immediately thought of the possibilities should her shoes be taken to production stages. She hasn't just come up with a collection but a brand concept as well to create the perfect city holiday shoes. Travellers and nomads inspired Haruki to create shoes that unify techniques from various cultures. They are shoes that are meant to be well-travelled and well-worn. Using wet-molding, her soles are designed for practicality and comfort and the neon cord detailing gives the shoes the design oomph they need. Here's hoping Haruki and her shoes for Holiday take off." - Style Bubble (http://www.stylebubble.co.uk/style_bubble/2012/07/shoes-n-things.html)

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Tailoring

Emma-Kate Cummings is a Designer focusing on strong tailored pieces. Born in Derry, Northern Ireland, she lived there until moving to London at the age of 19 in 2010 to study Tailoring at London College of Fashion. 'Arriving in London I found the buildings, people and busy streets overwhelming but I now see them as things to constantly inspire me in this fast-paced city. One of the things I find most inspiring about London is that within the hard grey shell of city life there lays beautiful greenery and a vibrant disposition. A contrasting scene.''I am a very creative person and became interested in designing at quite a young age. Since then it is something I have been pursuing through education and personal activities. Although creativity in designing is the main driving force I also thoroughly enjoy problem solving my ideas into final garments and the opportunity to learn new techniques and expand my knowledge.' With her unique and exclusive approach to tailoring, Emma-Kate addresses the needs of the modern woman, creating timeless pieces which are practical yet innovative and enjoyable for everyday wear. In this most recent collection she takes the idea of officewear to a new dimension. The female form evolves through Emma-Kate’s conspicuous silhouettes. They aim to transform ... the body, the character, the attitude. https://www.facebook.com/ekcdesign http://www.linkedin.com/pub/emma-kate-cummings/3a/a2a/4a3 Final Collection Creative Team: Photographer - Josh Gooding Model - Courtney Soanes Make-up artist - Leah Sioux Fisher 'Boulevard' Creative team: Photography - Shawn Paul Tan Model - Sophie Louise Make-up and Hair - Yura Do Styling - Ib Kamara'Joanna' Photographer Orla O'Neill'Debbie Van Der Putten' Creative Team: Photographer - Nick Pater MUA/Hair - Huma Islam Stylist - Tiffany Dhani Assistant Stylist - Iffat Raja'Mariana' Photographer - Pavel Badzhakov

London based textile designer for fashion and accessories, specialising in embroidered textiles for both Menswear and Womenswear. Born and raised in London the mix of cultures and vibrancy is reflected in and inspirational to my designs. I like to create innovative ideas through contrasting craft textile process with modern fabrics and techniques; this is key to my design aesthetic. I also work with printed textiles alongside textural embroidery and embellishment. I am passionate about sustainability and recycling, and embellishment is often created from the repurposing of objects like aluminum cans and cork. http://maisieg.tumblr.com/ Feature: http://schoolhousefrocks.com/2013/08/15/maisie-gillett/ Work Experience Fabrications Topshop Laura Ashley Anne Sofie Madsen Jane Bowler Ada Zanditon

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles

Experimental textile creative embracing new technologies and merging them with old crafts; I create pieces fusing knit, embroidery, laser cutting and textile manipulation and have a strong understanding of proportion and the body with the ability to engineer and construct embellishment to enhance design on the body. All pieces designed and constructed are inspired by architecture and structure in nature. Exoskeletons and skeletons in particular have constantly been a point of fascination and through layering, contrasting and distorting my inspirations I push the development further via context, use of materials and scale. The focus is always on the textile first, the final design being a result of the 3D textile experimentation process. The 3D textiles are also developed digitally layering with illustration creating another unique way of interpreting and merging developments. Experience gained through work at the following companies: Alexander McQueen (Textile Design; Embroidery and Print) Burberry (Knitwear) Alice Palmer (Knitwear) Iris van Herpen (Textiles) Education// 2009 - 2012 London College of Fashion: BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Technology / Knitwear First Class Honours 2008 - 2009 London College of Fashion - Foundation Art and Design www.cezanneagatha.co.uk

SS14 BA SHOES: Style 3. L.A. Peppermint Swirl, Photographer: Amy Parton. Model: Renae Mutch.

BA (Hons) Cordwainers Footwear: Product Design and Innovation

PRESS RELEASE SO BAD, IT’S GOOD Camilla Elphick launches her debut shoe collection "So Bad, It’s Good" for Spring/Summer 2014. London shoe designer Camilla Elphick's debut shoe collection, "So Bad, It’s Good", is inspired by her time spent living in New York and by the paintings of the US artist Kent Christensen. Much of his art depicts iconic American images of candy, ice-creams and cookie towers – things that, as a Mormon who doesn't drink alcohol, coffee or tea, are his "treats", and things that are so good to eat and yet so bad for you. There are touches of Surrealism and Pop Art in his work, which works well together with Camilla’s fun and artistic approach to shoe design – a desire to create colourful collections for women who like a lot of glamour and just a little bit of kitsch. The highly wearable Donut shoe, a graceful classic pump with a low cleavage and a curvaceous upper, the L.A. Peppermint swirl, a fun and glamorous peep-toe pump, and the super-comfortable Oreo flat are all covered in gorgeous patterned satin designed and printed by Camilla especially for the collection. The Triple Scoop sandal takes centre stage in eye-catching ice-cream-coloured patents that look good enough to eat. And the Pez shoe is a stand-out 110mm peep-toe pump in candy-pink patent leather with a moulded bright yellow heel modelled on a Pez sweet dispenser with Bugs Bunny detail – perfect for turning heads! Camilla said: "I love the colour and the iconic images in Kent's work and appreciate the good and bad in all the staples of American life. I wanted to create fun and beautiful shoes which make a statement and make a simple outfit complete." With experience at companies such as Donna Karan and Burberry in New York, and Nicholas Kirkwood, Charlotte Olympia and Topshop in London, Camilla – who graduated from the BA Cordwainers Footwear course at the London College of Fashion this past summer – is confident that her first collection will be a sweet success. So, if you want a sugar fix this Summer, why not try “So Bad, It’s Good”... I am an inventor; I experiment with innovative techniques, unorthodox materials and compose new formulas. Also I seek to invent designs that don’t only look intriguing, but also enhance well-being in our society, culture and environment, creating balance and sustainability. I look for sustainable innovations; this makes the design process more challenging and purposeful, creating a whole new mission for me as a fashion designer. I research into primitive ethnic techniques of different cultures, and mix them with advances in technology to create my own vision of the future. My main aim is sustainability and innovation, which results in my signature look as futuristic and ethnic. In my latest collection I explore the idea of esotericism. This is a theory that there is something beyond the materialistic world, which we can not rationalize with our 5 senses, branching out into phenomena of spirituality and the new age movement. New age movement draws the ideas from ancient and perennial wisdom teachings seek to gain higher knowledge of our being, such as Buddhism, ancient Maya, Hinduism, Aztecs, also scientific theories, such as the chaos theory blur the line between science and religion. People that are part of the contemporary new age movement tend to be interested in travelling. A sleeping bag would be one of the main items carried by them since it’s easily fold-able. There from comes the decision to marry the ideas of re-incarnation, travelling, and sustainability (up cycling and deconstruction of sleeping bags). http://abykova1.wix.com/anna http://annabykova.tumblr.com/

Spring/Summer 2011

BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear

TV Western is a description for Spring/Summer 2011. This collection is a powerful collaboration of one silhouette of gunfighter, two different scales of cowboy blanket-patchwork and three-color manipulation of works. The outfits inspired by a variety of Western dramas in a golden age of Television, the 1950s'. What this collection camp up with, in essence, is a range of asymmetric silhouette and hemline involving a hand-made print of cowboy blanket-patchwork in terms of scale and texture. It is in fact that Herringbone-fabrics and colors create a strong visual effect bringing a complete communication conceptually.
