"When I Look Into The Sky" is the Spring/Summer 2014 Collection for the heritage brand, Marie Paplauskas. The collection is an external expression of an internal emotion of being overwhelmed by something greater than you. To be blown Away. A collection that began with one of my greatest inspirations and wonders, the sky. _I am an American fashion designer currently based in London with a focus in woman's occasion wear including cocktail, evening and bridal. [Design Aesthetic] I believe that designing clothing for the modern woman is a collision of learning from past; classic silhouettes with atelier techniques, and moving forward with contemporary approaches to textiles and design; all aimed at flattering the natural curves of the female figure and ultimately making a woman feel her most beautiful. BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles

A London based Textile Design student, specializing in embroidery and the manipulation of fabrics and incorporation of mixed media to form unusual and innovative materials. Recent collections have focused particularly on experimentation with Latex and its use as both an embellishment material and as a base fabric. I am fascinated by both the unusual and by traditional craft. My influences derive from multiple sources, including memory, the world and people around me, music, moments in time, decades of the past, form and light. These are explored and then refined through experimentation with the application of various media to a base textile. making statement pieces in classic shapes using traditional methods of construction with new contemporary materials. NOSTALGIA JUNKY 2013 A collection based upon the exuberance and creative attitudes of the 1970's focusing on the juxtaposition of glamour and decadence whilst promoting the contemporary need for sustainability. Conveyed through the imagery inspired by the lyrics of Led Zeppelin's internationally acclaimed rock ballad 'Stairway to Heaven'. The collection is based on an exploration and celebration of glorious flamboyancy and attitude as well as the avoidance of a throwaway culture. It aims to promote individuality and a more creative attitude in times of economic and social uncertainty, with the use of usually discarded materials or found objects and up-cycling them and combining them with top quality natural base fabrics; various weights of silk, Indian cotton, leather and suede and latex itself to create something beautiful, wearable and new. Currently my portfolio focuses on textiles for Womenswear. Future ambitions include designing for both Menswear and accessories while continuing to refine my existing working practices. CAPITOLISM. Defining the "Beautifully Vulgar" a voyage into fashion and the human condition, and the relationships between the two. Clothing should be more than a means to an end, the ethos here is that whilst garments should always be wearable, practical, and invoke a sense of security, they must also invoke a sense of fashionable confidence in the wearer. This body of work, was created to appropriately explain the links between this sense of security in uncertain times, and peoples fashion requirements. Contact: daniel.hunter1989@me.com

BA (Hons) Cordwainers Footwear: Product Design & Development

ZEHRA GAZILER’S Autumn Winter Collection is inspired by the Chinese Yin Yang Theory; how polar opposites or seemingly contrary forces are interconnected and interdependent in the Natural World, and how they rise to each other in turn to form a Complementary Balance. These interrelated forces of Earth, Fire, Wind and Water, elements that are seen and unseen, bind together and interact to form a Greater Whole, part of a Dynamic System. The process of change, the points of intersection, the physical reaction, and the altered state are studied to create a beautifully contrasting range rich in texture and materials. SMP01- PANELLED PEPLUM JACKET

BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Development

Aspiring to work within production, my final graduate project was inspired by British manufacturing, to investigate if it would be possible to have a garment completely "Made in Britain" at high street level. The project comprised of a one-off women's capsule collection inspired by the idea of disassembly, to help promote and visually portray a story of a garment construction from start to finish. Classic shapes and styles but with a modern twist, showing intricate details and the incredible craftsmanship and skills Britain has to offer the manufacturing industry. //EXPERIENCE// John Kaldor Fabricmaker Ltd Junior Garment Tech July 2011- September 2012 //EDUCATION// London College of Fashion BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Development September 2009 - Present

Press Release The SS ‘13 collection, from Rachel Greig, explores the concept of pilgrimage, and considers the contrast between medieval and modern day pilgrimage, on Rite of Passage holidays to destinations such as Malia, Magaluf and Kavos. The collection investigates both the metaphorical and physical journey of a pilgrimage and the personal transformation that takes place, through the process of the collection itself. Playing with the contrast between medieval pilgrims wanting to better oneself with 21st century pilgrims celebrating the acts of debauchery and degrading oneself amongst friends, the collection embodies a fun and yet sophisticated aesthetic, with foil fringe skirts and pleated fabric detail and accents. Silhouette and fabric consideration has been taken from classical 15th century paintings, and in particular the concept of medieval pilgrims seeking holy relics and purity. Religious references to modesty and innocence have taken the form of the fabric pleated headpieces, ‘wimples’, worn by medieval women and nuns, and it is from this research that the recurring drape influence of the collection has been developed. In contrast to the medieval influence the other side of the collection has been developed from a case study of ‘Essex Boys Maga 13’ and their pilgrimage to Magaluf. Research images include their numbered jersey tops to distinguish their group, and conceptually their manipulated and falling off clothing in drunken photos forms a large basis for the entire collection’s slouchy aesthetic. Research of the boys passed out in bed after a night out have formed designs developed from initial drape, using bedsheets. Elastic details have also been considered and developed from the elasticated corner of bedsheets, and repeated in different sized elastic and different places on the garments. Recurring numbers, from Look 1 to Look 6 are placed and incorporated into the garments, to convey the numbered jerseys of the holiday groups. The numbers have been distorted and warped to continue the theme of crushed and manipulated clothing, inspired by drunken photos of the ‘Essex Boys Maga 13’ with their clothing pulled, falling off, and ripped. This research has also branched into the theme of drunken injuries and hospital references such as side slits and open back tops and dresses are apparent in the garments. Finishes have been taken from the sports element of the t-shirts and tank tops worn by the boys, with simple binding on most garments, and raw edged pleats and necklines have also been incorporated to continue the theme of breaking down society’s expectations and the detrimental process partaken on these holidays. BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Development

Current fashion assistant and aspiring fashion stylist working and living in London. For my final major project i wanted to create something reflective of my strengths within styling. Therefore i created the fashion magazine product, theOpposite - the black and white issue. This product consists of all editorials styled by myself, along with garments and a casing. This was all based around the idea of introducing a new fashion magazine to the market which would be more interactive and collectable for the consumer. With all ideas being based around the theme of opposites and with the use of black and white to create a coherent feel to the content of the publication in terms of styling and layout. BA (Hons) Cordwainers Accessories: Product Design & Development

Inspired by Japanese calligraphy and the spirit of zen, this conceptual accessories line is a modern representation and interpretation of the Japanese culture. The pieces are given their roles as sculptures or paintings that decorate the space as well as wearable accessories that embellish the body. As a Japanese designer residing in London, I believe it is impetrative to showcase and modernise the traditions of my country to new possibilities, putting it out to the world that would eventually protect the disappearing cultures and traditions such as hand crafts or even ways of thinking. This collection was produced by mixing my skills as a graphic designer, student of fine arts and my experiences in millinery fabrication and most importantly appreciating and valuing where I am from.
